<title>New Finding: Private Investment Increasing in Ontario's Solar Industry</title>
            <link>http://www.cansia.ca/sites/default/files/economic_impacts_of_the_solar_photovoltaic_sector_in_ontario_2008-2018_july_26_0.pdf</link>
<description>A recent study by ClearSky Advisors Inc. found that $12.9 billion dollars is expected to be privately invested in the Ontario solar industry by 2018. This coming fall, Ontario's feed-in-tariffs will be reviewed and the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) is suggesting a reduction in the program's rates based on the study. Jon Kieran, CanSIA's Board Chair and Director stated "Our support for a rate decrease recognizes how far solar has come. It acknowledges the need to see a reasonable rate of return for investors and the importance of creating a stable diversified energy grid." Read the full report on the CanSIA website.</description>

<description>A survey commissioned by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) earlier this month showed that 7 out of 10 Ontarians support green energy policies. Furthermore, 84% of participants between the ages of 18-34 were in support of initiatives like the Green Energy Act and the Feed-in Tariff. The current energy policy in Ontario has become a debated topic during this election year, with the province set to eliminate coal-powered energy by 2014. <link>http://pubs.pembina.org/reports/behind-the-switch-final.pdf</link>
<description>A recent study at the Pembina Institute found that cutting the Green Energy Act would have almost no effect on taxpayer's electricity prices. This is encouraging for the controversial Green Energy Act, a package of green energy subsidies and policies, which has attracted billions of dollars in new green investments and has helped to make Ontario North America's leading green economy. Cancelling the act would not stop Ontario's rising electricity prices over the next decade and could risk the future development of a reliable, sustainable energy source.
